The contact is the work
Coaching and communication training for managers and coordinators in Curaçao.
What a disconnected workplace looks like
You can see it before anyone says a word. People rush into the room. There is no eye contact. There is little laughter. The manager walks in and starts working, because they think the work is the work. An open-door policy does nothing if walking through that door means admitting you have a problem.
The one question
Change begins with something small, done every day: a manager who comes in, makes contact first, and asks: "What can I do for you? How can I help you?" Contact comes before the task. That is the whole idea, and it is harder than it sounds. My training turns it into a habit.
What it brings
Less gossip, less ego, shorter meetings. People laugh again. They meet each other as equals.
How it works
Who it is for
Managers and coordinators in organisations introducing a new way of working. Most change does not fail at the top or on the front line. It fails in the middle, with the people who have to make it work every day. That is where I work.
An intensive month
Around four half-day sessions at your workplace, with video practice so participants see themselves as others see them.
Practice
Then a few months in which your managers coach their own teams.
Evaluation
Together we look at what has changed and what is needed next: more training, or one-to-one coaching for some.
